TOKAR

Three spare fingers. Zero spare time.

You're a wood turner at a Soviet factory. One month is five shifts, five orders from the plan. Get the drawing, turn the part on an old lathe, sand it, oil it, and hand it to the Director for inspection.

Push the chisel too hard and the blank flies out. So does a finger. The plan allows you to lose three. Lose the third and the month has failed: no salary.

On the last shifts the Director asks for a small favour: a part "off the books" instead of the planned one. How many times you say yes decides your ending.

FEATURES

- A lathe that fights back: wood resists the chisel, a deep cut is slow and risky, pulling back is always safe.

- Chisel angle changes how wide and how clean the cut is.

- A cranky old machine. Kick it when it starts acting up.

- Shavings pile up. Clear them by hand... if you trust your fingers.

- Your finished part turns into a 3D model you can spin around.

- Seven orders, from a chair leg to a matryoshka.

- 4 endings. Russian and English.

CONTROLS

A / D - move hands along the part

Mouse up / down or W / S - push / pull the chisel

A run takes about 15-20 minutes. Best played in the browser with a mouse.
